My own app wall

Apple’s app wall is cool. But it would be even better if we can have our own copy.

I spent some time and crafted one. It is in python, so you should be able to run it on any platform. But I’m not a UI guy, so don’t expect too much.

You need pygame, PIL and feedparser to run it. Here is the link [appwall], feel free to try or improve it.

For those who don’t want to install a bunch of staff to try it, here is a exe version. My python installation on mac is totally a mess now. So, sorry, no app version.

Fixed 2 bugs. The program is more stable now. Above links have been updated and point to newest version.

Wow, that looks sweet. Love the effects. I created a browser based version:

Now, I just got to think of a way to make some cool effects on the browser. ;-)

Any chance you can fix the download link for this amazing app? I cant find it online anywhere and I like this old version alot better then the new one you have made.

BTW the download links for your newer one: are also broken.

Thanks! Cant wait to try this out. looks very well done. Much better then the current “appwall” screensaver that is out.
